Defaulting to not downloading PDFs

I would like to echo the request for this feature. Defaulting to not downloading would allow me to only download and store locally papers that I will actually read in-depth, which for me would help with organization.

I think you misunderstood the thread you posted to, which was about open-access PDFs specifically. You can disable automatic downloading of PDFs from the General pane of the Zotero settings.
