Same author same year not working for JGR Biogeosciences (and other AGU styles)

For same author same year, Zotero is just showing the second author of the reference to distinguish between them. However, the correct style should be using "Jones 2023a", "Jones 2023b", etc.

I have searched on the forum and see that this seems to be a bug for other styles that needed to be fixed. For example:

Could you please also fix this for "Journal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences"?

Thank you!
  • No, that's different from the linked thread. Adding authors before et al is correct for APA and AGU, see
    https://www.agu.org/publish-with-agu/publish/author-resources/grammar-style-guide
shorten to cite the surnames of the first authors and of as many of the subsequent authors as necessary to distinguish the two references followed by a comma and “et al.”: Jones, Tuller, Park, and Wu (2013) and Jones, Tuller, Park, Le Pinchon, et al. (2013).
  • You are correct.

Is it possible for you or one of your team members to fix the citation style for "Journal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences"?

    Thanks.
  • I don't understand? The journal uses AGU style and we just established that's correct?
  • Sorry I misunderstood your previous message. Problem solved. This thread can be closed. Thank you.
