RIS export incomplete

I am trying to export a RIS file because it's the file my journal requires, but when I export the RIS file many of the citations in the group are missing. I am able to export each RIS file individually, but when I export the whole sub collection as many as a third of the RIS files are missing. Why is this happening and what do I need to do to export this correctly?

I have tried right clicking on both the folder as well as on the highlighted items in the folder and get the same results.
  • What type of item types are missing and how are you testing they are missing? Can you export the missing items to RIS individually?

I don't believe we have seen this, other than notes not exporting as items, but that seems irrelevant in the context.
  • What type of item types are missing and how are you testing they are missing?

I noticed the issue when I uploaded the RIS file to the publication portal and there were items missing. I then opened the RIS file in Bbedit (plain text reader) and confirmed that they are not present in the file.

There is no correlation between item type and whether it is included on export.

Can you export the missing items to RIS individually?

    Yes.

You should do some experimentation to find the smallest set of items where one is missing. First confirm that it happens when selecting all items in the collection manually, and then cut the selection repeatedly in halves until you find, say, two items where one doesn't get exported. Then provide a Debug ID for that along with the individual RIS entry for the item that's not being exported. (You could start with a Debug ID for exporting the whole collection, but that might be harder for us to parse.)
