Style Error:[Bioinformatics Journal]

Hi, current papers printed by this journal and instructions to authors differ in style reccomendation from the style provided by Zotero. Specifically, there should be no empty line between references, and the volume number should be emboldened. I have confirmed this in a current paper. Please can this be amended? Will I need to do anything locally to update my style file once fixed ? Many thanks for an excellent product!

I'll have a look later. Do you have a link to a styleguide?
  • Hi. Instructions to authors is at http://www.oxfordjournals.org/our_journals/bioinformatics/for_authors/general.html however this section does not give specific details about the formatting of the references, only the content. I suspect the error in the styles comes from the HTML version of their papers e.g. this free-access current paper: http://bioinformatics.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/full/25/21/2735 . However if you look at the pdf print version, you will see that the references differ as mentioned above. Thanks for the quick response.
  • I have just emailed them to confirm the pdf formatting is the correct format.
  • I have the journal number in bold - the correction is committed and the style should update automatically - you can also just go to the repository and re-install the style, which will update it.
It may take some time until the correction shows up in the repository, look for the timestamp.

The single-spacing I'm not sure is currently possible - I have asked and so far not received a reply.
  • My colleague has just pointed out that there should also be a comma between the author(s) and the year within the in-text citation. Thanks for your help so far on this!
  • thanks, correction committed to repository.
