Error ID : 39296809 , Zotero is not working anymore for me on Win (Google doc or LibreOffice)

Hi, I'm doing my thesis for my PharmD and this has pissed me off for the entire day, I don't know why but I think when I copy/paste parts of my work that were divided into one main file I think something bugged and now I have a message of error saying that I need to relink some of the old references (those now wrote in red), and if I try to add a new reference or even delete everything and do it again from the beggining, my selection is just replaced by a (1) even if i'm changing the style or uninstall reinstall chrome, zotero connector, or zotero itself.

Please help me guys i'm not that dumb but i'm lost right now :'(
  • You will have to be more specific. Describe step by step what you did and what happened at each step. Then describe in detail what the current problem is.
  • I started like 10 text documents in google doc on gdrive online in 2022, now i'm grouping all of them into 1 long text document still on gdrive and the plugin Zotero worked perfectly fine, untill I copy/paste all the content of my 10 documents inside the big one, the copy/paste worked fine but if I want to add a new quote, the sentence selected becomes red and a message appears : "those quotes are not linked anymore...." with a big list of previous quotes (end page notes)

I'm still searching for a solution to make it work or even restart all the end notes from scratch, I have to send my thesis to my teacher and this is a big pain in my A right now :'(
  • When pasting the contents of one document to another you should make sure you have Zotero Connector installed and enabled and that both the document you are copying from and pasting to are fully loaded. Upon pasting the contents you should see a Zotero overlay saying "Please wait... Zotero is updating your document.". After the overlay disappears, you should make sure the citations carried over correctly by attempting to insert a citation in the document. After the attempt the message about citations being unlinked should not appear. You should do this after every paste to make sure everything carried over correctly. If it does not work, try refreshing both documents, waiting until they fully load, then trying again.
  • I've restarted my citations from scratch, and even when I just try to copy/paste a part of my writings into the same document, and following the steps you've described, the message about citations appears :'(

Now i'm just gonna finish everything first and then take the time to restart my citations from number 1 without moving or copy/pasting anything, only 100% way of doing this for now untill you guys have one beter

    Thanks for your help tho
  • I am not sure what you're saying about restarting your citations. Copying citations in a document and between generally works. You should say what happened when following the process above and where things went wrong and we can continue to help you troubleshoot from there.

If copying and pasting text with citations appears to not work, you should test it in a new document and make sure it does not work there. If it does not, please provide a Report ID from the Connector.
  • I thought copying within a document generally doesn't work in LO or Google Docs? Has that changed?
  • It works in Google Docs just fine, only an issue in LO.
