Identifying the group to which a reference is assigned

When doing a search in a Zotero library containing multiple groups, I often find that I want to know to which groups a given reference (in the resulting list of references) has been assigned. Is there a way to do so?

I assume you mean collections, not groups (you can't, unfortunately, search across groups).
