Preregistration as item-type

I wonder whether preregistrations such as those on OSF could benefit from their own item-type in the Zotero database.

Has this been considered before?

    I would just enter these as Preprints and enter “preregistration” in the Type field

    I think for now that's right, yes.
    I'd see how this plays out, but for now, my impression is that preregistrations are almost exclusively referred to by studies they're registering. As long as we're not seeing broad citation or specific citation requirements, using more generic item types for that seems just fine.
