Data synchronization problem

1. When synchronizing data, the upper right corner prompts "The note "2SHJZ7LM" is too long and cannot be synchronized. Shorten the note and synchronize again."
2. However, when I found and deleted "2SHJZ7LM", the error still existed, and then I continued to delete and recycle The files on the website did not solve the problem. Now I cannot find the "2SHJZ7LM" file it prompted, but the error message is still "The note "2SHJZ7LM" is too long and cannot be synchronized. Shorten the note and synchronize again.
3. I used the "WebDav" method to synchronize my files, and I found that "2SHJZ7LM" existed in my "WebDav" cloud, so I deleted the "2SHJZ7LM" file in the cloud, but the problem still exists.
4. I’m going crazy with “2SHJZ7LM”. Does anyone have the same problem and how to solve it?
  • Have you emptied the Zotero trash?
  • Yes, I emptied the zotero trash, but it still prompts "The note "2SHJZ7LM" is too long and cannot be synchronized. Shorten the note and synchronize again.", although I can no longer find the file "2SHJZ7LM" locally.
  • You wouldn't be getting that message for an item you fully deleted (and you have deleted that item in the online library). Are you sure you're not getting a different message now?

If you think something is wrong, can you provide a Debug ID for a sync that produces the error?

(Also, I'm a bit confused here, because the error message shouldn't use the item key — it should show the beginning of the note contents. Is that the actual message you were getting, or did you just put in the item key when posting here?)
  • This is Debug ID: D1496571172. The error message is issued after clicking the exclamation mark next to the sync button.
  • OK, so again, that wouldn't be the exact message you're receiving. Please don't paraphrase error messages — we always need the exact message you're seeing, minus any private info that you can 'x' out. The error you're getting shows the actual note content, and you seem to be using some plugin that put another item key at the beginning of the note along with some other code. You need to delete the actual note that the error is for, not the note with the item key in the note contents. But you shouldn't have to guess here — there should be a button in the error dialog that takes you directly to the note in question.
  • The problem has been solved. Although I emptied the Recycle Bin before, I deleted the items one by one. It seems that the corresponding files are not completely clear. Just now I right-clicked the "Recycle Bin" button on the right and selected "Empty Recycle Bin". After synchronizing again, The problem is solved, thank you for your help.
