Citation style customization

Hi,
This is a CSL question that relates to citation style customization. For a given item type, I'd like to style a citation differently for one archive versus another. Is there a way to use the choose element to select different renderings for the different archives?
Thanks
  • As far as I understand your question, CSL cannot "read" what's inside a metadata field like "archive" and therefore you cannot build this into a style.

Can you somehow differentiate these items in another way, i.e. do they have a field that the others don't have?
  • "As far as I understand your question" - yes, you understood my meaning.
Testing whether a field is not empty is of rather limited usefulness. It is most likely that the same field will be either empty or filled for all.

It would be wonderful to have an "if" element that could compare a field to a string value. Is that a reasonable feature request or is it more complex than it appears?
  • Almost no chance that'll happen I'm afraid.
  • Thanks for the replies.
I just wanted to be sure I hadn't missed a CSL capability.
