What can i do once i need to save a pdf in zotero but it says zotero was disabled. Once it accepts the file comes in as a link and cannot be found in word doc while referencing. I tried to attach it manually but referencing is not possible.

I'm not fully sure what is going on and you seem to have a bunch of issues mixed together.

However, if you import .pdfs, make sure to create a parent item of the item. Only those you'll be able to cite in your documents.
