Editing page of zotero doesnt open

Hi there,

I cannot edit Zotero citations, as the editing page is not opening if I click on the editing button in word as usual. Sometimes the editing page opens after I have closed the respective word document. I have updated zotero and word as well as the zotero word plug-in; copied the whole doc into a new one and duplicated the document. Still, nothing helped. Hopefully somebody of you can.

Can you insert citations? And could the add/edit citation window just be behind other windows, including Word (use alt-tab to circle through existing windows to check)

No I cannot insert citations and the window is not hidden

Please be sure to say that you're running the Zotero 7 beta.

And to be clear, the beta is for testing Zotero's next release. If you want to help us do that, great, but if you're in the middle of a project and just want things to work, you shouldn't be using it.

If you restart Zotero and click Add/Edit Citation in a new, empty document, does that work?

I have the version 7.0.0-beta.38+b79e0b3d7. If I open a new document it's working, but not if I copy the text of my thesis into it.

Right, I know what version you're running — I'm just saying you need to mention that you're using the beta when reporting problems here.

Thanks I did that and if I separate each chapter zotero is suddenly working for all of them, it is just very very slow. It even seemed to be working for the master document, but it takes up to 10 minutes before the editing page appears. As the master document is nearly 200 pages and over 1000 footnotes, is this simply too much for the program? The weird thing is, that in the morning was working fine one minute and then suddendly not.
