Library on App missing - Library online still visible

I've recently switched to a different MacBook and set up the Zotero App with synchronization. However, upon launching the App, I found my library missing. I've ensured that my sync settings are correct. My complete online library is still visible. To test out what is happening, I used the Zotero Chrome extension to add a new item to the library. This addition promptly appeared in both the online library and the App Library. As a result, the App library now only contains the latest few references I added for testing. I've followed the forum's recommendations to troubleshoot syncing issues, but the problem persists.
  • In general, see Changes Not Syncing, and if you're still having trouble provide the requested info.

This doesn't really make sense, though. The app can't upload an item to the online library without downloading all the data first. In addition to the info requested on the linked page, can you take a screenshot that shows your local library, upload it somewhere (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.), and provide a link here?
  • Hello dstillman, Thanks for responding. I checked again the trouble shooting at the link. Please see a screens shot of the online library and and App library.

OK, but that doesn't show any of the same items. No items have been added to the online library of the account you're posting from in two weeks.

To be clear, the only confusing thing you said is "This addition promptly appeared in both the online library and the App Library", and you haven't shown any evidence of that.

Otherwise, the standard answer here is just that you either haven't set up syncing or you set it up with a different account. But you didn't provide the Debug ID requested on the linked page, so that's all I can tell you at this point.
  • Yes. That is my account - the one that hasn't had items added to it in 2 weeks. I apologise for the confusion with my earlier explanation. To clarify, when I add a new item via the Chrome extension, it appears in the library of the desktop App but does not appear in the online library. Here is the debug code made when adding a new item to the online library: D1575824988. Here is the debug code for when I added a new item via the Chrome extension: D625143910. I changed the password to my account online and subsequently signed in again on the desktop App. So I am confident that this is only one account, logged in on both Zotero online and the Zotero Desktop App. Here is a new link to a screen grab of the reference added by Crome Extension adding to the desktop App: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15ntPOWsM2tzMec8AdB8Pd_WVETJuS-Ii/view?usp=sharing Here is a new link to a screen grab showing how the item did not appear in the online library: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TfY8OLhS9cbCRkmGYYQ-YtI0G2v6CLNb/view?usp=sharing

You've disabled syncing of My Library in the Sync preferences. This is one of the things it says to check in the link I provided originally. Again, there was only any mystery here because you said the item appeared online.

Thank you kindly. I could see clearly that the library was unchecked and in red. It was not responding to manual check/uncheck. Being aware of this, I included a screengrab of this as a link. I came across this when moving through the list of things to check in the link you originally sent me - which I did indeed check, one by one, in full. Regardless, I am now able to check/uncheck the library and therefore enable sync. So all is well. I appreciate your time.
