Choose which child PDF file to open by default

Feature request. For an article item with multiple attached PDF, I would like the ability to choose which PDF to open by default, by double clicking or right click --> Open PDF.

This issue has been mentioned by many users in the past, dating back to 2016. I am not sure why Zotero has done nothing about it despite all the other great improvements.

Developers, please understand that the feature of choosing default file is VERY IMPORTANT for researchers. Almost all papers in Nature, Cell, etc. have supplemental materials that we need to add to article items. Plus, I sometimes have different versions of annotations for the same article. Such important and frequent operation shouldn't need a ~10 step workaround to perform every time as mentioned in a previous post.

Please let us know why this feature is a hassle for development and has not been added. More conversation between developers and users can improve Zotero more effectively.

    People have requested literally hundreds (thousands?) of features over the years. Unless we've said we're not planning to do something, there's absolutely no conclusion to draw about something not being implemented other than that we've been working on other things that are important to other people.

    In this case, this feature is planned for the near future. There's no need for further discussion of it.
