force a sync in iOS/iPadOS zotero app?

I am finding that synchronization between the zotero app running on iOS/iPadOS is either very sluggish or not happening unless the app is closed and then re-opened.
The app for macOS has a handy button top right for "Sync with zotero.org" that forces a sync. Is there a similar feature buried somewhere in the iPadOS/iOS app?
  • You can pull down on the items list to force a sync, but syncing is automatic, so you shouldn't need to trigger that manually, just as you shouldn't need to click the Sync button in the desktop app if "Sync automatically" is enabled. The main exceptions would be 1) if you know you just made a change remotely or locally and you don't want to wait a few seconds for automatic syncing, 2) if you're on a network where the app's WebSocket connection to our servers is being blocked, in which case remote changes might not come through right away, 3) if you're asked here to provide a Debug ID for a sync. Local changes should always trigger a sync within a few seconds.

If you're experiencing some problem with syncing in the iOS, see Changes Not Syncing and provide the requested info.

Ah, that was the information I was missing -- thanks!

(Small point: the app gives no user feedback that a sync has been triggered when the list is pulled down -- the usual spinning wheel does not appear in the space above the list when it is pulled down.)

Well, but it's not, though — the rest of what I said was what was important. You shouldn't need to use that in normal usage, so if you're having some problem with the app, you should tell us.
  • OK, here is a Debug ID:

    D1219080414

and the problem is: zotero app running on my iPad does not sync with Zotero (even when the list is pulled down) until it is closed and then re-opened.

I'm not sure what that's meant to show. There's no sync attempt there, and you didn't provide a description of what's not transferring, as requested in the documentation.
  • > you didn't provide a description of what's not transferring

Apologies. I had another go at logging my sync problem prior to sending you a proper description of what's not syncing and...found I cannot reproduce the problem--syncs are now functioning as expected. That's good for me, but a bit embarrassing that I wasted your attention.
  • No problem. Let us know if you run into trouble.
