Cannot open Zotero 7 after update/error key.toUpperCase is not a function

Hello guys~ After I update Zotero 7 beta to the newest version, it works better and add several nice new functions. But when I found that the "go back" function in the pdf doesn't work anymore, I just modify the extension.zotero.keys.overideGlobal to true and then restart my Mac, then I cannot open the Zotero any more. Everytime I open the Zotero and the error window comes out saying:

"key.toUpperCase is not a function

I reinstall it several times and also try to install Zotero 6 and delete the whole Zotero database directory, but still it doesn't work. Can anyone tell me how to fix this one? Zotero is really important to me for doing research..

    That hasn't been a valid pref for 10 years. I don't know where you saw that, but you shouldn't follow random years-old old posts that you don't understand. And the Config Editor warns that it can break things for a reason.

    Open prefs.js in your Zotero profile directory and delete that line.

    Well, and also, you spelled it wrong, which is the only reason it broke. overideGlobal isn't a valid or expected key. The actual pref, overrideGlobal, is just cleared automatically in current versions of Zotero if you try to set it.

    Again, you really should not be touching the Config Editor if you don't know what you're doing.

    Anyway, "Back" not working in the new reader is a known issue and will hopefully be fixed soon.

    Many thanks for replying and help, dstillman~ I just reset that pref and finally I can reopen my Zotero again~ Now I cannot not see this entry anymore in the config editor. But It's still strange that in the newest version of Zotero 7, the "back" and "forward" in the pdf reader of Zotero doesn't work. It works in Zotero 6(I keep both of them and test it on the Zotero 6). Do you know how to fix this problem?

    It's not strange at all. As we said in the announcement, there are still bugs in the updated reader, which is why a manual upgrade was required to use this version.

    Oh, now I see. Many thanks for your informing me that the "back" has been a known issue. In fact, I don't know this issue and had thought that the pbm might be that the shortcut in the newest Zotero 7 have conflict with the global ones of Mac. That's why I modify that value.

    Back/Forward are fixed now in beta 32.
