Keep sources sorted is lost when editing nature citations

I am using MAC OSX 10.5.8, the latest version of Zotero and Microsoft Word 2008 using *.doc documents. I have found the following bug using this and the previous version of Zotero.

I am using nature style references (with superscript numerical references within the text body). Adding several references at a single place in the document works fine, and if the 'Keep sources sorted' check box is selected then the citation numbers will appear in the correct order in the main body of the document (e.g. 1,4,5). However, there is a problem when I go back to edit those citations. When I do that, the 'Keep sources sorted' check box just doesn't appear. I can add a new citation to that location okay, but unless I'm lucky, the numerical list is out of order. e.g. I start with 1,4,5. I add 2, but it appears as 1,4,5,2. Why does the 'Keep sources sorted' check box disappear?
Thanks
  • I have this problem too with the PLoS style. I use the latest Zotero and OpenOffice plugin.

PS/ Any plan on using a bug tracker instead of the forum to report bugs?
  • i have the same problem with APA style in MS Word, Vista.

    is it normal?
  • Same issue here. After inserting one citation, then coming back to edit it and add multiple, the sorting option is gone. I have to delete whole citation and re-do it from scratch.

I'm using APA style with MS Word. Zotero 2.x
  • yes, that's a known issue.
As to above - there is a bug tracker in forms of tickets (and I'm pretty sure there's one for this), but the general feeling is that having only a few people create tickets - based on forum posts which are all read by at least one dev - makes the process more efficient.
  • Same problem here. Using ACS style with MS Word 2000. Zotero 2.0.9 with WinWord integration 3.0b1.

Please let me know how to correct the numbering of my citations! Do I have to redo all of my citations?

    Thanks.
