I have been experiencing a similar issue but I think it only occurs with specific referencing styles. When I try to reference using OSCOLA either word or zotero will crash. However, when I use Harvard both work just fine. Is there an issue specifically related to the compatibility of word with certain referencing styles?
thanks for the reply. I did download version 16.74 and don’t use table of contents but the footnote issue w/ Oscola still persists, whereas in version 16.75 no referencing style worked for me (tried Harvard and oscola and both word and zotero crashed.
If you're not using a table of contents, it's happening with non-footnote styles, and it's not fixed by downgrading to 16.74, it's not the same bug. Moving this to a new thread.
First, what exactly do you mean by "crashed"? As in closed completely, or as in frozen? If the former, can you provide the first 100 or so lines of the crash report from the Console app?
In version 16.75 word would freeze and then either shut by itself or force quit. Sometimes instead of word freezing zotero would crash. This happened in empty documents and non empty ones and with both Harvard and Oscola. Tried booting it in safe mode to see if it is a software related issue but in safe mode zotero would always crash when attempting to reference.
When I downloaded version 16.74 word and zotero seem to both be working fine when using Harvard (again this is in both empty documents and non empty ones) but when I try to use OSCOLA zotero will crash but word will keep working fine. I am not home at the minute so I cannot post the first 100 lines but will do when I get back later
Wait, I just saw your email — this is the Sonoma beta? You really need to say that when reporting something here.
If you're using the Sonoma beta, you should be using the Zotero 7 beta (but you shouldn't really be using either if you're using this computer for real work).
If you can still reproduce this with the Zotero 7 beta, let us know.
