Zotero no longer syncing with my Word document - compatible with track changes?

Hi writing a thesis and doing my corrections now. Has anyone else experienced difficulty with Zotero syncing and updating references when in track change mode?

    Once you resolve all tracked changes you should be able to use Zotero with your document normally. If it doesn't work, your citations may be unlinked.

    Thanks very much for getting back to me. I accepted all the track changes, and saved the work in a new document. I have also looked at the "citations may be unlinked" advice and had already been trying to reinsert each of them (there are at least 1300), using the Zotero toolbar, but the Zotero app will not communicate properly with the document, even the new document. The most progress I ever get is when the reference updates but then it only ever states "{citation}", as if it's still working on it but the field never actually fully updates with the requested reference. I understand that the other option is to manually do them, but then I don't feel that I am getting value for my subscription (which is currently unlimited). I don't think the problem is the document, as when I try to open a completely new, blank document, the same issue occurs.

    Make sure the citation dialog isn't just appearing behind your other windows — that's the most likely cause here. "{Citation}" is just the placeholder it displays while the citation dialog is showing. The citation dialog is part of Zotero, so check behind the main Zotero window. It would be very odd for this not to work in a new, empty document.

    If you don't think it's that, restart Zotero and try again, and if it still happens restart Zotero again and provide a Debug ID for reproducing this.

    Hi thanks, yes I checked that too (whether the window was hidden). It really is not working in a new empty document. Even thought the Zotero taskbar is showing. I have restarted Zotero and even downloaded it again. I will try the debug ID but please consider if there is anything else as I only have 2 weeks now to resolve this and get the document submitted. Thank you.

    There's nothing else we can say without a Debug ID.
