APA 7th in-text citation format errors (Windows)

Today, the in-text citation format in my Word document that I'm currently editing suddenly became incorrect (M. Kim & Lee, 2017), but the correct one should be as (Kim & Lee, 2017). However, the preview style in the setting appears to be right. When I create a new Word document, some of the references' citation formats are correct again. Is it possible to correct the format in the old document, and if so, how should I do it?
  • It is correct APA style to add initials when two different authors have the same last name.
  • @dstillman @bwiernik Thank you for your reply, and I check the APA 7th guideline, I found that a term says "Some authors have the same surname, if this occurs you should add the initial(s) of the author in all of your citations even if the year of publication is different, e.g. (Williams, A., 2009), (Williams, J., 2010).". So I wonder if the current in-text citation (M. Kim & Lee, 2017) should be (Kim, M. & Lee, 2017)?
  • I am not sure where you found that quote, but it’s not correct. APA style adds the initials before the author last names, not after.
