Cannot find attachments

Hello, my computer was re-imaged by my University's IT and I think I lost all my Zotero attachments. I have an online account where I can see that there are linked attachments but I cannot access the PDFs off the web interface. I have tried all the troubleshooting that I can find on the Zotero forums but all the PDFs seem not to be syncing to my computer. TIA!

    It looks like you were either using WebDAV for file syncing or recently used "Purge Storage in My Library" from your storage settings page. Nearly all attachments you've added to your library since 2014 have file-sync information, but only the files you just added yesterday actually exist on our servers.
  • I have a box.com account with 4120 files that was synced back in April 2023. I assume that's a lot of my PDFs. Is there any way to resync that, or is that option gone?
  • you shoul be able to restore them, I dont use box but I heard that the box stopped the offering WebDAV, still it might be possible to get the files locally to your machine and put into right location
  • @ono2000: You would have to put the files on a different WebDAV server and configure Zotero to point to there.
  • @dstillman: if I DL the files from Box and put them on a different WebDAV server as you say -- will they resync and resume working? Is there any way to DL them from Box and just use Zotero local sync/storage?
  • If you move the .prop/.zip files to another WebDAV server, it should just work. You might need to do Reset File Sync History from the Sync → Reset pane and/or add another file from either this or another device to force it to re-download files.

    You can't use those files directly in Zotero, only via sync, so you'd need a working WebDAV server to download them.
