Great help needed! It is possible to restore my data?

Due to other firefox problem, I reset firefox to its default state, the same state as I first install firefox in my pc. Then I reinstall zotero, it then has no data in its local library. Then I set the zoteor sync server user name and password. Zotero then Sync automatically with server and restore all my data.

However, I did a stupid thing there. I remember I stored my previously zotero data in a different folder, rather than the firefox profile directory. So I deleted all the current local data and set the data directory to my former folder. I probably sync at some wrong time, now I have no data at both the zotero server and my local folder!!! God!!

Is it possible to restore my data? Great, great, great thanks!!!
  • I restore my disk data using easy recovery. I put the files (those seemes to be named by random letters) back into the storge folder of zotero, but it didn't work. There is still no data in my zotero library. It seems that I should make some changes to other zotero files in the zotero folder. How should I do it?

By the way, I am using the latest beta version of zotero, the latest version of firefox and the latest version of windows 7.

    Great thanks!
  • if you replace the entire zotero storage directory with the one you got from easy recovery that should work:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data
  • as noted in adamsmith's link, you also need to restore the zotero.sqlite file so that zotero knows about everything in the storage folder.
