Display first initial of first name in "Creator" column, for sorting?

Is there a 'view' or 'display' setting so that the first initial or complete first name of an author can be displayed in the "Creator" column in Zotero's central pane?

My references are sorting by author's last name, and then by date, so that, for instance, items by Peter Osborne and by Milton Osborne are interspersed. When those items are selected and a bibliography displays, however, the sort order is correct (ie., by author and then by date). I'd like to have that sort order for the display.

    If I remember correctly, in an earlier version of zotero, it did sort the way you describe.
