Zotero connector consistently fails to do anything

I've tried Chrome and Arc (both chromium browsers), restarting my computer, copying my document relinking from an empty doc. No matter what, I always get back to a failed connection. This happens when I try to add a citation or refresh, and now I may have just lost 100's of citations in a document that I need to submit on Tuesday.

  • (Be sure to specify in your thread title when you're referring to Google Docs integration. The Zotero Connector's main function is saving, so that's what people will assume you're referring.)

Did you enable Google Docs Integration v2 in the Advanced pane of the Zotero Connector preferences? You should disable it.
  • Hi, I am having a similar issue. This would be an AMAZING tool if it worked consistently, but the Google Docs integration only works about 50% of the time and then only up to a handful of citations -- then almost never after that. It freezes or search bar just gets greyed out.

I did as dstillman suggested above and disabled the Google Docs integration checkbox in the Connector preferences but then that just fully removes the feature?
  • No, that wasn about the version 2 (beta) google docs integration (which isn't even available as an option anymore in the current connector preferences), not entirely disabling google docs integration.

We'd need more specific error messages (like above) to say more -- generally, Google doc integration isn't super fast but should work quite reliably and does for me. That said, if you're just talking about the last couple of days, there seem to have been a couple of issues with Google's API that broke things temporarily.
