Import from menu in the main Zotero interface

Hi all,

Currently, as far as I know, importing metadata from the current page using the available translators can only be launched from the icons that appear in the address bar.

The problem is that there are extensions which actually replace the address bar for a different interface, like Vimperator, which I'm a big fan of. Right now, every time I'd like to import metadata from the current page, I have to disable Vimperator, restart Firefox, import metadata from the articles I'm interested in, enable Vimperator and restart Firefox again. It's not that much work, but it is a bit of a hassle.

I wonder if it could be possible to add these same icons for launching the import process to some button in the main Zotero interface (displayed with Ctrl+Alt+Z). I was thinking of making the "Create New Item From Current Page" into a pop-up list from which the user would be able to select between creating a regular Web Page item or use some of the translators available for the current page.

I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement, though. What do you think?

Cheers,
Antonio

D'oh. Thanks for the link! I should have searched for Vimperator before asking.

Still, I've tried calling Zotero_Browser.scrapeThisPage(".") using the .vimperatorrc snippet in the blog article and though it seems to start, it always fails with "An Error Occured While Saving This Item". Clicking on the status bar icon works as usual, though. Any idea why this might happen?
