Attach local copy from link to existing entry
Hi, I wonder how it might be possible to add a local copy of a link to a PDF to an existing Item in Zotero.
What I want to do is adding a new item from Google Scholar via the BibTex citation and afterwards - if available - add the provided PDF but just as a link (because it is the easiest way) and I want to get a local copy of the document, i.e Zotero should download the document from link and add this to the existing entry.
This might make no sense, but how would this be technically possible?

So if I understand this correctly, you want to automatically attach a PDF by giving Zotero the URL to that PDF? That's not exactly possible, no. You can use Zotfile to do this in two steps. Specify the Zotfile download directory as the default download folder of your browser in the Zotfile preferences (you only need to do this once). Then:
1. Save the item (metadata) to Zotero
2. Download the PDF into the download folder
3. Use "Attach recent item" on right click to the recently added item.
