Transferring files between computers/sync

Hello,

I was wondering if you could help me figure out how to transfer/sync files from a computer that doesn't work anymore, meaning I don't have access to because it is broken, to a new computer? I have logged in online to my Zotero account, but I am not able to see my files in the web library as it shows empty.

    If your data and/or attachment files were never synced online to Zotero servers/web library from the old computer (with the Zotero account you used on that computer), then the best way to get them onto your new computer would be from a backup of the Zotero storage folder from that computer.

    If you do not have a backup and you cannot boot the old computer to make one, it is often possible to remove a Windows PC/laptop's internal drive and connect that to a USB adaptor that would allow the data to be copied to the new computer (disk encryption would complicate that). Macs can reportedly be more problematic and I have no experience with those.
