Upgrade StorageMendeley to Zotero - how to link with word file

we are working in a research paper. One of my colleagues used Mendeley to cite all the articles. Now he shifted to another place. I am using Zotero. He shared the Word document, and citations in Bib format. I am using Zotero and uploaded theBib file in Zotero. Now i don't know how to link the file with citations as i want to edit the references. How to link the word citations in Zotero?

Dont use the Bib files they sent. That'll create new items and cannot necessarily be matched up.
