Formatting youtube references

The required elements for a Youtube ARU Harvard reference are:

Screen name of contributor, Year. Video Title, Series Title. (if relevant) [type of medium] Available at: include web site address/URL (Uniform Resource Locator) [Accessed date].

Video Recording is different format, but is what Zotero picks for Youtube content. If I use that, the contributor is missed off and the date is after the title. If I manually change in the Bibliography then the alphabetical reference order is no longer correct.

Is there a way to overcome this?

The issue here is that the guidelines want a different format for "DVD, video or film" and for "YouTube Video". Behind the scenes (no pun intended) Zotero/CSL treat these as the same type though and there is no way of differentiating them.

However, if you switch this to the item type Web Page you'll achieve the nearly correct output. E.g.:

Just Have a Think, 2023. Can the electric grid ruin your EV battery? [online] Available at: [Accessed 27 April 2023].

    Guidelines:
Defra, 2007. Sustainable development: the bigger picture. [video online] Available at: [Accessed 23 June 2012].

The "video online" is not possible in any way, from what I understand. Open to suggestions though.

  • Thank you thats a good work around
  • This solution doesn't work.
  • @CraigGee101: Please don't waste people's time here. If something isn't working, explain exactly what you're doing and what the result is that you're getting. This obviously worked for other people.
