can't add citation with Mac World 2008

Hi, I've a problem with zotero, I can't add citation or edit biliography with my configuration. I've the following version:

Mac OS X 10.4.11
Word for Mac 2008
Firefox version 3.5.3
PhthonExt 2.6.2.20090920
Zotero 2.0b7.1
Zotero MacWord Integration 3.0a.1r5261

Please help me!!

Thanks for advance
Régis
  • First, you're running an outdated version of Zotero. Upgrade to 2.0b7.2.

Next, you'll need to provide more information than that. What happens when you try? A Report ID may be helpful.
  • Its a mistake, I've Zotero 2.0b7.1
I'ven't any problem with it (I can download all what I want) but with Mac World: when I want to add a citation, nothing occurs.
I don't know how to do a report ID with world?
    sorry
  • Yes, and 2.0b7.1 is not the latest version. If you don't have 2.0b7.2, upgrade to that.

Try to insert a citation in Word, and then, back in Firefox, select Report Errors from Zotero's gear menu, send in a report, and post the Report ID here.
  • I'm trying but I can select report error: it's not accessible
  • Sorry I would write: "I can't select report error"
  • Are you getting an error dialog? If so, post the message in the dialog here. If not, try restarting Word and Firefox.
  • Yes I've this

Failed to load XPCOM component: /Users/regisbouquie/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/jyu0w6jq.default/extensions/pythonext@mozdev.org/components/pyXPCOMExtensionHelper.pyo

Try closing Firefox, opening /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app, and typing
/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefoxThis should open Firefox. Then try inserting a citation again, and post whatever you see in the terminal window (if anything).
  • I've tryed this: same problem and nothing in terminal window
  • Try deleting the extensions.cache, compreg.dat, and xpti.dat files in your Firefox profile folder, and see if you see any output then.
  • Sorry always nothing. My report is now:

Failed to load XPCOM component: /Users/regisbouquie/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/jyu0w6jq.default/extensions/pythonext@mozdev.org/components/pyXPCOMExtensionHelper.pyo

Can you try deleting those files again and then generating a report ID? There may be additional output there to help us track down the underlying issue. If you still can't select the menu option, then we're a bit stuck. Is there anything odd about your system that might be causing issues?
  • Thanks for your help. I've upgraded my OS, and now, all is OK
    Thanks again
