Upgrade StorageImporting RIS files to zotero on MacBook
Dear Zotero Help Community,
I am experiencing some difficulties importing RIS files from my online university library into my Zotero library on my MacBook. I have tried importing the RIS file using various character encodings, but the imported data is not being displayed correctly.
When I import the RIS file using UTF-8, the data in the reference list appears incorrectly and contains unreadable characters. When I import the RIS file using US-ASCII or ISO-8859-1, the special characters and accents are either incorrect or missing completely. However, when I select the windows-1251 character encoding, the Cyrillic characters are displayed correctly.
I am not sure which character encoding is appropriate for my RIS file and whether there may be issues that are specific to Mac OS. Could you please advise me on which character encoding is best suited for the RIS file I am attempting to import on my MacBook? And could you please provide me with step-by-step instructions on how to import the RIS file successfully and ensure that the imported data is displayed correctly?

Can you provide a public link for retrieving a RIS file that demonstrates this?
If not, can you upload an example file somewhere (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and provide a link?
(Also, is there a reason you're not just using the Save to Zotero button to import from your university library? Generally you would only need to import a RIS file manually if you're importing a large number of records at once.)
