Zotero lets me select much less text in PDF with OCR than other viewers
Hello all,
my problem is the following: I sent a PDF file of scanned book pages through a OCR recognition software. When I then view the resulting PDF in a PDF viewer like Firefox or Adobe it lets me select a lot more text than with the built in PDF viewer in Zotero. Often the built in viewer lets me select just around 10% of the text that was otherwise succesfully recognised by the OCR.
How come? Am I doing something wrong here?
Best regards
Dennis

Any progess on the issue? The annotation feature, which I really like, is sadly barely useable for me on some scans.
1. Open the PDF with a viewer that lets you highlight the problematic passages.
2. Hightlight the text with the external viewer. Save the file.
3. Open the PDF in the Zotero viewer. You can unlock the external annotation by going to File -> Import Annotations.
4. You can then edit the text in the annotation. The passage on the scan is highlighted.
