Zotero LibreOffice integration issue: References in frames are corrupted after refresh

I insert references in figure captions below images in LibreOffice (LO). These captions are in the frame the image is in. This is the default in LO. When I press 'refresh' all references are removed the captions, except in one caption, where they are shown all.

Steps to reproduce:
1-create LO empty document
2-Insert images
3-Insert caption
4-Insert zotero reference at end of caption

repeat steps 2,3,4

5-press refresh

references are removed from one caption and added to the other.

Sorry, we are unable to support citations in frames in any of document processors that we integrate with.

Please disallow placing references into frames entirely if it cannot be implemented.
I learnt this the hard way and had to manually fix up about 20 image descriptions with in-lined references for the final document. If something is known to be broken or unsupported it should not be possible to use by default.
