Zotero is not running

After dozens of trials, I am still unsuccessful in running Zotero. I used to have no problem with zotero. However, last year it suddenly stopped working. I thought maybe it is due to "error" that could possibly occur during transfering (basically copy pasting) the zotero data to my hard disk. Since then, I deleted the zotero app several times and tried to re-install but no avail. There is no particular error that the system is pertaining to. When I click open it just says 'Zotero program is stopped from running" (translation from Russian) and "either troubleshoot the problem in the internet or close the program". As a side note, I could manage to run it for hours once, then same problem resurfaced. Please help!
  • What OS?

Don't translate error messages — we always need the exact message you're receiving. Do you get a crash report of any kind?
  • Windows 7 (64bit). Usually, I can't even open the desktop app when I click. And when I manage to open it says:

  • I don't think we've ever seen this before, but it looks like something related to your NVIDIA graphics drivers. Check the NVIDIA control panel to see if there are app-specific settings. Zotero is based on Firefox, so you may be able to configure it to match Firefox settings, or you can try creating a custom config and disabling certain advanced features.

If that doesn't help, it's possible to disable hardware acceleration in Zotero itself, but try the NVIDIA control panel first.
