How to transfer library of PDF attachments (from EndNote) to Zotero?
Hello,
My organization has run into issues with EndNote (specifically the collaboration functionality on group libraries) and I would like to transfer our master database to Zotero.
So far, I have been able to export the EndNote reference database as a .xml file type and import the references to Zotero without any trouble.
The problem now, however, is that I have been unable to figure out how to transfer the library of PDF attachments into Zotero along with the reference library. (For now, the library in Zotero shows zero attachments).
There are some 608 references and probably 400 separate folders with one PDF each in the EndNote.data folder (each separate folder has a numeric titles). I tried transferring the whole batch into the Zotero library folder in the hopes that there might be some sort of automatic discover process (alas, there was not).
Is there any way to transfer over the PDF attachments (each nested in its own folder) without opening them one by one? (I hope that's sufficiently clear?)
Thanks!

Thanks for the link, but I have already tried that procedure several times (and just now once more).
Each time the references all appear, but none of the PDFs in the database appear as attachments. The attachment item field (paper clip symbol) appears completely empty. Also, when I check the Zotero "storage" folder I can see that no PDFs have been transferred there either.
I should be clear that I am importing a library that was saved by my colleague, but I followed the instructions and made sure that the files were located together in the same folder.
Another idea: When I "Select All" of the references and left click (Mac), I see that there is a Zotero function "Find available PDFs..." which I understand searches the web/databases for PDFs. But is there such a function for searching LOCALLY on my own HD for available PDFs?
Thanks again!

tags. This was definitely a case of user error, ha! When you asked about the file paths I looked on the xml sheet in text editor and realized that I had changed the name of the xml file when I saved it/moved it to the .data folder. So I started over with the original enl import files and it worked!
Thanks again!
