How to convert in Google Docs uncovertible citations

I have tried following a tutorial to transpose the citations from an original.docx document to a new one created with Google Docs. Despite I could convert some of them, others appear just like a hypertextual link and as far as I tried refreshing the doc, citations cannot be converted.

Is there anyone who might suggest how to cope with it?

Thanks

  • Is this the process you're referring to?

Can you make a copy of the document and send an excerpt of the part that's not working to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
  • Yes, that is the document. Thanks for replying. Would you want me to redirect directly to my personal Google Docs account?
  • Sorry, not sure what you're asking.
  • Ok, I have just sent everything via email. Thanks for letting me know and I will be waiting soon for updates.
  • The citation in that excerpt is converted fine for me (as part of a valid transfer document), and I can then edit the citation with Add/Edit Citation.

Would you mind sending the whole document?

Possibly, I make something wrong with Add/Edit Citation. On my side, it pops up the classical Zotero bar which is used to add manually citations through (of course, I am always talking to open the doc in Google Docs). Is there something else that you do to convert citations?

  • On the side, a window pops up and I cannot realize what is next to convert that citation
I'm not sure what you mean. What does the window say?

You can't convert just the excerpt — you need to convert the full transfer document that Zotero creates when you use the switching feature. Then you'll be prompted to restore citations when you perform any action.
  • Hello,

sorry for coming back just now. It is what exactly I did, but unfortunately, it does not work on my end. I cannot figure out what the problem is.
  • You'll need to share the original document that's not working, then.
