Q: shortauthor field
Hello,
I use zotero with betterbibtex and have searched the web and zotero forums to find out if there is a way to cite an organization or group with its abbreviation after the first citation (in text). I have to use the APA 7 style.
The following is old but says there is no option.
https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/42619/user-defined-fields/p1
Here in the "fields" section there is no entry for "shortauthor" but I know that there is an option for BibTeX.
https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/item_types_and_fields
I do not want to edit the bibtex file manually just to enter the "shortauthor" field after exported an extended version of the .bib file from zotero. So, is there any way out?
Thanks.

tex.shortauthor: ...
and that will appear in the output. Is there a programmatic way BBT could derive the shortauthor from the creators listed in Zotero?

If this is risky and could break the citation keys, I will not do it!
(Emiliano - Zotero doesn't have short authors, so no)
I have another issue. I have to do that to other authors, but then the citation key changes. Can I do that to other authors with retaining the established citation keys? It is ok how the citation keys are generated at the moment.
