I am unable to import a PubMed search to Zotero. I am using the Chrome browser, Windows 10 operating system. To recreate:

1. From PubMed, "Send to: Citation Manager". I selected all results (n=1,247)
2. From Zotero, "Import>A file (BibTeX, RIS, Zotero RDF, etc.)
3. Selected pubmed file from Downloads, click open
4. In Zotero, kept "place imported collections..." checked, copy files to the Zotero storage folder>Next.
5. Immediately receive error message "An error occurred importing the selected file with MEDLINE/nbib. Please ensure that the file is valid and try again.

Thank you for any advice!

[JavaScript Error: "Error(s) encountered during statement execution: FOREIGN KEY constraint failed [QUERY: INSERT OR REPLACE INTO itemTags (itemID, tagID, type) VALUES (?, ?, ?)] [PARAMS: 6798, 7582, 0] [ERROR: FOREIGN KEY constraint failed]" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/db.js" line: 680}]
Check your database integrity from the Advanced → Files and Folders pane of the Zotero preferences. And if it finds errors, please let us know.

If it still fails, restart Zotero and provide a Debug ID for an import attempt that fails.
  • Thanks so much! No errors found, restarting Zotero resolved the issue. You made this PhD student's life so much better today :). Thanks again.
