Saving webpage with snapshot queries
Hi everyone,
I am new to Zotero and I am finding it to be a steep learning curve, but I am really enjoying using it. I was hoping to ask about the feature where you can save a webpage with a snapshot in Zotero.
In real-time, does the saved webpage get stored as a PDF with an image in it in your Zotero library?
And, * most importantly * for me, can you still retrieve the snapshot of the webpage from your Zotero library even if the original webpage link changes or you lose access to the subscription-based journal where you obtained the snapshot? I am asking because I want to be able to access the snapshot in the future, even if I am unable to access the original webpage for any reason.
I use MacOS if this extra info would help with the answers.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on this matter.
Thanks,
Ali

dstillmanedited February 11, 2023It gets stored as an HTML snapshot, not a PDF or image. It's completely static and won't change.
