Errors occur when inserting/editing citations

I experienced trouble when I tried to insert or edit a citation. An error message pops up as "Zotero experienced an error updating your document". This problem somehow can be fixed by restarting the firefox and open a new .doc file, but always exists for old files, which drives me nuts...

xp with SP3, 2003, Zotero 2.0b7.2 and Zotero winword integration 3.0b2

    I have the same problem but the error message is different : "Zotero experienced an error updating your document. UnicodeEncodeError: 'charmap' coded can't encode character u'/u0301' un position 124: character maps to <undefined>"

    When I open a new document it works. But this file is my PhD thesis and it doesn't work even if I copy/past to a new doc.
