Zotero not appearing on Google Docs or Word Online menu bar

I downloaded the Chrome connector and Zotero is listed in my Chrome Extensions and I can open my Library on the Desktop version of Zotero. However, Zotero does not appear on the menu bar when I open a document from Dropbox in either Google Docs or with Word Online. Everything I've seen online about how to use Zotero for reference citation in both document platforms gives steps after clicking Zotero on the menu bar. Is there another way or other things I can try? Thanks!

    Zotero works with Google Docs documents in Google Docs. It won't work with the Google Docs mode in Dropbox.

    Zotero doesn't work with Word Online, though it likely will in the future.
