Generally Zotero should behave the same regardless of screen size or resolution and some of us have large screens and Zotero works OK.
Is it slow in any particular place (e.g. reacting on clicks, loading items etc) or just generally feels like mouse cursor is janky when Zotero is open?
Is this on Windows with Nvidia card by any chance?
Zotero is working on windows 11 with Nvidia RTX 3050. It is very slow when I use the mouse to highlight sentences in the pdf file with the Zetro pdf reader. But it doesn't happen when I use an FHD screen.
Thanks for your help. I figured out this problem by the method below. I hope it can help others who have the same issue as me.
Edit -> Preferences Advanced -> Config Editor Accept warning Search for "layers.acceleration.disabled" and set it to false. (seems the default setting is false, my setting is true, lol) Restart Zotero
Ok, I remember why I changed the "layers.acceleration.disabled" to true. Figures in some papers are covered by a black circle. This problem can be solved by changing the "layers.acceleration.disabled" to true. Right now, this issue happened again. Do you have any method to solve this problem?

If this is a problem you're seeing, the following might help:
- Start "Nvidia Control Panel"
- From the column on the left select "Manage 3D settings"
- Select "Program Settings" tab
- Next to "Select a program to customize" press "Add"
- Select Zotero on the list or use "Browse" to find it, then confirm with "Add Selected Program"
- From the box below "2. Specify the settings for this program", find "Monitor Technology" and select "Fixed Refresh".
- Press apply at the bottom of the screen
- (Re)start Zotero
