Import from Citavi 6 - cannot convert .ctv6bak to .zip

I will be soon leaving my old university, where I have a Citavi account, for another university, which does not provide one. This means that I will need to move my 4-year research onto another programme - ideally will all my notes and highlights on .pdf files.
The amount of data saved on Citavi projects makes it impossible to move everything manually.

I tried following the instructions here: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/import_from_citavi

However, I encountered a problem when trying to unzip ctv6bak, as there is no unzip option on the dropdown menu when I click right on my mouse.

Other websites suggested converting the ctv6bak to .zip - the file type cannot be changed when I go into Properties - I don't seem to have permission to play around with it.

I also tried the option of archiving a project with attachments, and then uploading the .ctv6archive file on Zotero (it did not work, obviously...)

Any suggestions on how to go around Citavi to do the unzipping or convert to xml would be much appreciated.

With best wishes,
Miruna

You don't change the filetype in the properties -- you make sure Windows is set to show file extensions, and then you just change .ctv6bak to .zip. Alternatively, I *think* the free 7zip tool will let you treat any file type as an archive and extract it (if it's zip compatible)
