Automatic copy files in C:\

Good morning,

A user of Zotero in our library, ask us for a facility of Mendeley Desktop which we don’t find in Zotero: the option of copy the download files (pdf) in Zotero and -automatically- in the C:\

Do you know if Zotero has this option?

Thanks!

  • If you're referring to a watch folder, see here:

  • Thanks, dstillman,
I think it’s not exactly the same. If I understand correctly, the watch folder option led you to import the files automatically from your C:\ to Mendeley Desktop.
The facility our user looks for, is the opposite: save the files automatically when she downloads from the save button, both in Zotero and in a c:\ Folder.
Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary, but, if there’s the option I’d like to show her.
    Thanks again!
  • That doesn't make sense. Files in Zotero are already on disk, and there's no reason to duplicate them all and waste disk space. If they just want a way to find stored files from outside Zotero, they can use their OS search or created a flat list of PDFs using a smart folder. See Stored Files and Linked Files for more information.
  • Yes, I agree with you.
I will show hes the https://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data option, as you say is duplicate them.

    Thanks and good morning
