You can share a folder with Synology's WebDav service and then use Synology's DNS service to connect to the device remotely. You would need to set up your router to allow passthrough connections to your Synology device on the port you specify when you set up the WebDav service. However, I would *strongly* recommend using your Synology Firewall rules to restrict access only to the IP addresses you will be using regularly (e.g., the IP address range used by your university or company).
