Zotero 6 for Mac Not Loading Library and Not Closing Properly
Hi,
Recently Zotero has been stuck loading my library (it stays at the "loading library" screen) indefinitely when I open the application and stays that way whether I'm in the Main Library page or in any folder/collection page. I can't disable plugins or change directories since every time I close the application it gets stuck and I need to force quit the application.
I've submitted an error report (ID #: 757438498) and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Zotero a couple of times, including the beta version, and that has not worked.
It started about a week ago I think after updating to Mac OS Monterey 12.6 and has persisted after installing Mac OS Ventura 13.0.
If you can provide any help with this that would be greatly appreciated.

@archerdj, there's a problem with the permissions in your Zotero profile directory — you're getting the above error for various files. Did you transfer files on this computer from another computer?
You'll need to fix the permissions of the profile folder so that Zotero can write to it. This isn't a problem in Zotero itself.
I tried changing the permissions in Finder for the folder indicated in the error message, but that did not work (even if I changed all profiles (User, Staff, Everyone) to read and write).
What worked was deleting and uninstalling Zotero and deleting the Application Support/Zotero folder, then reinstalling Zotero. Some of the previous settings I had were not saved but the application works now.
Thanks for your help!
P.S. Safe mode (where the plugins are disabled on start up) is initiated by holding down Option-Shift when launching Zotero.
