[Feature Request] Precise info when hovering reference in pdf reader
When reading a paper with tens of references, it would be really nice to be able to hover the mouse over the references and have a popup with more info (without having to go to the end of the document). Maybe just when holding a key like ALT.
Even better would be to have it connected to your zotero library so that you know if you already have downloaded the reference, annotated it, etc...
For instance, when hovering the mouse over the [15] in "According to [15], ...", you would see a popup with:
- Paper name
- Authors
- Date
- Already in your Zotero library
- Your notes on this paper if any
I think it would be amazing for when you start to be acquainted with a specific research domain and the same papers tend to be cited in several of the papers that you read.

I think that simply showing the text extracted from reference [X] to the next [X+1] in the reference section of the papers (e.g.: using regular expression) will be valuable.
The next iteration could go further with the extraction of the title data and so on (using template extractions for each reference format), and another one will be checking in Zoteros own library of articles.
I see value in each of those three and would appreciate if someone can work on that.
Thanks!!
But it only works with links right? It would be great if it somehow detected references.
I'm using a Boox note 2 and it works with the different styluses I have for it.
Yes, it shows you the reference that appears in the endnotes at the end of the article. But it doesn't show you the content of the reference, because it has no way to detect it.
What I'm saying would be great is that if the body of an article has for example [1], where 1 appears in the bibliography as article X, then the popup/link would refer to document X, not the bibliography of the current document.
