WordPress & Zotero
I've read the page on WordPress, but there are a few things that I'm not quite clear about. Could someone clarify whether the following are correct?
http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/wordpress
1. The person wanting to cite a WordPress post doesn't have to do anything except for the usual Create New Item operation.
2. For this to work, the owner of every blog that I might want to cite has to have independently installed the main WordPress plugin or the unAPI plugin.
3. Ideally, blog owners should also have installed the COinS button, too.
If I am right with the above, a couple of thoughts occur:
1. Is it possible to get WordPress.com and Edublogs.org to install these plugins into every blog by default? (Or has something along those lines already been done?)
2. Depending on blog owners at large to independently develop an interest in providing metadata seems a bit optimistic. Are there any good ways to evangelize these capabilities and the attractions of metadata?
3. Can anything along similar lines be done about non-WordPress blogs (Vox, Squarespace, Movable Type, Blogger, Tumblr, ...)?

2. Yes
3. Not necessarily, if they want to use the other COinS plugin it adds features for citing things inside posts, but in many cases that is not necessary.
For your second list:
1. That would be great, I am not sure about how wordpress would feel about that, but I know some institutions that use wordpress add the plugin to all new blogs.
3. In many cases it would be possible to develop translators for some of these blogging platforms, it is just a matter of someone investing the time to develop them.
