Zotero in Google Docs does not work!

I've tried restarting chrome, uninstalling and re-installing chrome and zotero, restarting my computer. Still doesn't work. Was working well until yesterday.

It works on microsoft word and the extension works on google chrome.

When I enter google docs and click zotero to enter/change a reference the zotero window does not open. Please help.

First make sure a dialog isn't just appearing behind Zotero or your browser window.

If not that, try disabling all other third-party browser extensions and reloading Google Docs.

If that doesn't help, try in a different browser or in a new Chrome profile.
  • Yes - tried all of these to no success. I have tried in a new chrome profile and it doesn't work.
  • When I enter google docs and click zotero to enter/change a reference the zotero window does not open.
Do you mean that the menu doesn't appear, or does nothing happen when you click Add/Edit Citation?

Can you provide Debug IDs from the Zotero Connector and from Zotero for reloading Google Docs and trying to use the menu?

    The menu doesn't appear.

[JavaScript Error: "TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '11')

No, we need Debug IDs from the Zotero Connector and Zotero. They're just numbers beginning with "D". Follow my link to instructions.
  • The first debug ID was for Zotero.
This is the debug ID for Zotero connector: D288795756

Thanks so much for your help

Those don't show reloading Google Docs and trying to use the menu.

If the menu isn't appearing, don't worry about the one from Zotero, but we need one from the Zotero Connector that actually shows you reloading the page, which yours doesn't.

And can you also provide a Report ID (different from a Debug ID) from the Zotero Connector?
  • Debug ID Zotero Connector with reloading: D2135059236
    Report ID: 228450443

It looks like you have a lot of other extensions installed. Are they disabled?

Can you provide the Debug ID and Report ID from the new Chrome profile?
  • So when I try it from a new chrome profile but still using my zotero login, zotero says:

    Debug ID is D114357982
    Report ID: 1800129782
    Zotero
The Google account you selected does not have permission to edit this document. Please try again, and be sure to choose the account with editing access..
  • That just means you chose the wrong Google account when prompted which account to use with the document.
  • OK I didn't know I could select the same account - Now selected the correct account and it works now on a new chrome profile. I'm not sure what happened but now it works on my original chrome profile too.
