Style Error: Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling

Hello all,

the editors of JCIM requested to remove the issues number from the references after submission of the manuscript to the journal:
"2. Remove the issue numbers from the References."

Could you please update the style such that it does not display the issues numbers?

Our JCIM style is a dependent for the acs.csl style as indicated in their guidelines:

"References can be provided in any style, but they must be complete, including titles. For information about the required components of different reference types, please refer to the ACS Style Quick Guide."

I understand your point. However, the request to remove issue numbers comes from the editors of JCIM. The style they use in the journal agrees to what the editors say. Example ref:

The request to remove different ACS styles for different journals comes from the ACS editorial office, though -- we used to have a bunch of different ACS styles and they asked us specifically to remove them and implement a single style to avoid confusion.
If you want to, you can modify the ACS style to remove issue numbers (see https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step ), but I'd push back against this given the ACS instructions.
