error starting Zotero
I've been using the older version of Zotero for a few months now and last week it started to act up a bit (it wouldn't let me save new webpages etc...) and now it's stopped working completely. There's a little triangle with an exclamation point in it over the program and when I click on it a box pops up that says
[Javascript Application]
There was an error starting Zotero.
I'm wondering if maybe I should just download the new version, but If it do, will it bring along everything I had saved in my older version or is it gone forever??
Thanks,
Tam

SimonIf you upgrade, you shouldn't lose your data, at least as long as you're running Firefox 3 or later. (There was a bug in Firefox 2 that could lead to data corruption under certain circumstances.) Of course, it never hurts to back up first.

dstillmanedited September 24, 2009You should probably run the DB Repair Tool before upgrading.
